Öresund/Øresund Patrol is a registered nonprofit.
Your donation goes directly toward marine research, underwater surveys, and public ocean education in the Øresund region.
We accept one-time and recurring donations through Donorbox. Payments are processed securely via Stripe, and we accept all major credit and debit cards.

2. About Öresund/Øresund Patrol
Öresund/Øresund Patrol is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to the sustainable future of the Øresund Strait through marine research, education, and public advocacy. We do not operate for profit. Surplus funds are reinvested entirely in our mission.
Our activities include:
  • Marine biological fieldwork and citizen science in the Øresund
  • Educational outreach and public communications
  • Policy engagement on marine and coastal protection
  • Collaboration with universities, authorities, and other NGOs
3. Payments and donations
3.1 Payment processing
Payment services on this website are provided by Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates ("Stripe"), a third-party payment processor. When you submit payment details, they are transmitted directly to Stripe and processed in accordance with Stripe's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We do not store your full card details on our servers.

3.2 Donations
Donations made through this site are voluntary contributions to support the work of Öresund/Øresund Patrol. Donations are:
  • Non-refundable except as described in section 3.4 below
  • Not exchanged for goods or services of equivalent commercial value
  • Not tax-deductible under Swedish or Danish law unless we have separately notified you that gift-aid or equivalent relief applies
All donations are acknowledged by email confirmation from our payment provider.
3.3 Membership fees
Membership fees, where offered, constitute payment for associated membership rights as described on the relevant page at the time of purchase. Membership is personal and non-transferable. Fees are stated inclusive or exclusive of any applicable VAT as marked.
Recurring memberships will be charged automatically at the renewal frequency stated at sign-up. You may cancel a recurring membership at any time by contacting us or via the account management link in your confirmation email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; no partial refunds are issued for unused time.
3.3 Membership fees

3.4 Refund policy
We will issue a full refund if:
  • A duplicate charge occurs due to a technical error
  • You request a refund within 7 days of payment, and no material benefit has been received (in line with Swedish/Danish consumer law requirements on right of withdrawal for digital or association services)
  • We are required to do so by applicable law
To request a refund, email us at the contact address at the bottom of these Terms, stating your full name, the date and amount of the charge, and the reason for your request. Refund requests are processed within 10 business days.
Refunds are processed via Stripe back to the original payment method. Processing times depend on your card issuer and may take an additional 5 to 10 business days to appear.
3.5 Currency and pricing
Prices are displayed in Swedish kronor (SEK) or Danish krone (DKK) as marked. Stripe will apply the applicable exchange rate if your card is denominated in another currency. We are not responsible for additional fees or conversion costs applied by your bank or card issuer.
3.6 Failed or disputed payments
If a payment fails, Stripe will notify you. We are not liable for any loss arising from a failed transaction. If you raise a chargeback or dispute with your bank without first contacting us, we reserve the right to suspend your membership or access to any benefit associated with the disputed payment until the matter is resolved.
4. Acceptable use
When using this website, you must not:
  • Attempt to circumvent or interfere with the payment system
  • Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information when making a payment
  • Use this website for any purpose that is unlawful under Swedish, Danish, or European Union law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its underlying infrastructure
Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or reproduce content without our written permission.
5. Intellectual property
All content on this website, including text, photographs, film, graphics, and data, is owned by or licensed to ÖresundØresund Patrol and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
Limited personal, non-commercial use (for example, sharing links or screenshots for educational purposes) is permitted, provided attribution is given.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Öresund/Øresund Patrol's total liability for any claim arising from your use of this website or a payment made through it is limited to the amount you paid in connection with the transaction giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for:
  • Losses caused by events outside our reasonable control (including Stripe service outages)
  • Indirect or consequential losses
  • Loss of data, profit, or goodwill
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or liability for fraud.
8. Third-party services and links
This website may link to or embed content from third-party services (including but not limited to Stripe, WhyDonate, social media platforms, and institutional partners). We do not control these services and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version date at the top of the document indicates when the current Terms were last revised. Continued use of the website after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes affecting existing members or recurring donors, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Swedish and or Danish law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to the courts of Sweden or Denmark, unless mandatory consumer protection law requires otherwise.
We are committed to resolving any dispute or complaint quickly and fairly. Please contact us in the first instance before taking formal action.
